Second edition of the prestigious “Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award”.
On Friday, 8 December 2017, on the eve of International Anti-Corruption Day, was held in Geneva under the three-fold patronage of the United Nations Office at Geneva, the United Nations Office at Vienna and ROLACC, the second edition of the prestigious “Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award”.
The ceremony in the Council Chamber, which almost a century ago saw the establishment of the League of Nations, was attended by the delegate of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, his Minister of Foreign Affairs, the President of the State Council of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, the Mayor of the City of Geneva, the Director General of the United Nations Office at Geneva and the Director-General of the United Nations Office Vienna, in front of an assembly also composed of ambassadors, representatives of the civil society and the national and international press. Dr. Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri, as President of ROLACC, reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against corruption.
The laureates, because of the excellence of their projects, were rewarded in four categories: anti-corruption academic research, anti-corruption youth creativity, anti-corruption innovation and anti-corruption lifetime achievement.
The holding of a third edition of an event already considered a classic was unanimously called.
